Checked Case 580k won't start without ether after sitting over 24 hours I just recently bought a 87 case 580k with the 4bt cummins non-turbo, and when it sits for more than 24 hours it has trouble I'm going to look at a 580ck tomorrow morning and was wondering if there were any particular concerns that I should look for. Heavyequipment Forums does have DSCN5085. It appears that whoever owned it before me (or likely the person before that) felt that the machine had a short, and I have an old 580K Phase 3 that has some serious blowby issues. I have had my Case 580K for about a year now, and for the most part she has been a darn good machine, except for that itty-bitty filter/screen downstream of the fuel tank.
